Ordering food online, something most of us do these days, is not always a safe or hygienic experience. Recently, a Zomato user from Noida was shocked to find a disposable plastic glove inside a sandwich he ordered from a popular eatery. He shared the picture on X, sparking serious hygiene concerns online. Here’s what Zomato had to say.
Zomato User From Noida Finds Plastic Glove In A Sandwich
Disposable plastic gloves are meant to maintain hygiene during food preparation. But what if you found one tucked between your sandwich? That hardly seems “hygienic.” This is exactly what happened to Zomato user Satish Sarawagi (@SarawagiSatish). He posted a photo on X showing a sandwich he had ordered from Salad Days, a popular delivery-only food chain in the Delhi-NCR region.
The post showed his order summary from Zomato alongside the sandwich, with a plastic glove tucked between the bread slices. Satish had ordered a Broccoli, Corn, and Basil Pesto Sandwich, along with a Smoked Cottage Cheese and Pepper Sandwich. He captioned the post: “I ordered a sandwich and found a glove inside the food! This is unacceptable and a serious hygiene concern. Please investigate and respond ASAP.”

Zomato And Salad Days Respond
Zomato quickly addressed the issue, stating, “Hi Satish, we’re absolutely shocked to hear about this. We can’t begin to imagine how upsetting this must have been for you. Please allow us some time so that we can take this up with the restaurant partner.” They assured Satish that they would get in touch to discuss the matter further.
Salad Days also responded to the complaint, writing, “We’re taking this matter extremely seriously and have immediately launched a thorough investigation with our quality assurance team. Please DM us your contact details so we can coordinate directly and ensure this is resolved properly.” They added that the kitchen from which the order was placed has been flagged for an urgent review.
Several netizens commented under the post, highlighting that this is a serious hygiene issue that deserves immediate attention. While both Zomato and Salad Days have responded, the action they take next remains to be seen.
