Kamiya Jani kicks off Sunday Brunch with the easiest way to know a person: ask them what they’re craving. And the Musafir Cafe gang does not disappoint. Sitting inside Musafir Café while promoting their Netflix series Musafir Cafe feels almost too perfect, and the conversation turns into one giant food confession session.

Musafir Cafe: Vedika Pinto Starts A Gulab Jamun Fan Club

Mahima Makwana is the first to answer and doesn’t overthink it for a second. Chicken biryani and chicken tikka, she says. Just two dishes that have probably united more Indians than anything else. Frankly, if someone says they’re craving chicken biryani, you don’t question them. You just nod in respect.

Vedika Pinto follows with a plate that practically orders itself. She wants seekh kebabs, and then, almost as an afterthought, says, “Maybe some gulab jamun.”

The table reacts as if someone has announced free dessert for everyone. Faces light up instantly, people start smiling, and suddenly nobody is talking about kebabs anymore. Gulab jamun has stolen the spotlight, which is warm, syrupy, and dangerously impossible to stop at one.

Vikrant Massey’s Favourite Dishes Come Straight From Home

Kamiya Jani, our Editor-in-Chief, then reminds Vikrant Massey that the last time he was on the show, he couldn’t stop talking about palak paneer and rajma chawal. Naturally, she asks if his cravings have changed.

His answer is probably the most wholesome thing said in the entire episode.

Instead of rattling off restaurant favourites, Vikrant Massey starts listing the people behind the food he loves. His mother’s biryani comes first. Mutton or chicken, he specifies, before joking that vegetarian biryani isn’t really biryani. The entire table bursts into laughter because they know exactly what debate he’s reopening.

Next comes his wife Sheetal’s mutton korma. Then, with perfect comic timing, he proudly includes “mere haath ki Maggi,” earning another round of laughs. Just when everyone thinks the list is over, he brings up Jyotsana didi, the family’s cook.

Unke haath ki dal…”

He pauses and says,“nothing can beat it.”

As the food keeps arriving, the conversation wanders into desserts and cafe treats. Waffles come up, and Vikrant Massey reveals that Vedika’s brother makes incredible Belgian croffles and insists that anyone who hasn’t tried one yet seriously should.

If you’re wondering what a croffle is, it’s exactly what happens when a buttery croissant meets a waffle maker. The result is crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and apparently good enough for Vikrant Massey to recommend on national internet television.

By the end of the meal, one thing becomes very clear. Mahima is firmly on Team Biryani. Vedika accidentally launches a gulab jamun appreciation society, and Vikrant turns a simple question about cravings into a tribute to the people who cook for him. And somewhere in the middle of all that, croffles make it onto everyone’s food bucket list.
