Leaving The Laidback Life Of Bhopal Behind, This Is How Kullu Survives In The Bustling Mumbai

On an exciting episode of Tere Gully Mein, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, explored the streets of Bhopal with none other than Aditya Kulshreshth, the comedian fondly known as Kullu. We got the warm welcome from him that Bhopalis are known for at a lakeside, where he shared all about his life, relationship with family, love for food, his journey into stand-up comedy, and a lot more. To know more about his love for Bhopal, read on.

Kullu Visits Bhopal Whenever He Can

As we sat on the lakeside discussing his relationship with his CID officer mom, he revealed that after over 3 decades of service, his mom finally retired and is enjoying that laid-back retirement life that Bhopal provides the perfect setting for. When you grow up in a city known for a quiet and laid-back life, moving to the bustling city of Mumbai, where rest has no place in anybody’s life, can be a big transition.

So, of course, we were curious and wanted to know how Kullu has been adjusting in Mumbai. He instantly replied that he travels back to Bhopal every time he gets a chance, at least once a month. A quiet and laid-back evening in Bhopal is all he needs to get through the next couple of months. He also added that while he is in Mumbai, he hardly talks and is always working. But when he is in Bhopal, it’s completely different. Here, nobody wants to discuss work. All that people do here is talk and live their lives in peace. Sounds like the ideal way of life, doesn’t it?

Breakfast At The Iconic India Coffee House

In no time, our conversation moved to food, as Kullu mentioned how the debate between Indore and Bhopal in terms of food is an ongoing thing. But, of course, he is loyal to the flavours of Bhopal. And with that, it was time to start our food trail for the day, and our first stop was the Indian Coffee House, the iconic spot in town that started in 1958. People have been coming here to hang out for generations. Kullu added that even his father used to visit this place often when he was in college. As we dug into steaming hot Vada and Idli paired with filter coffee and French toast, it made for the perfect start to this food trail.
