Rahul Mishra has left the fashion world in awe with his exquisite couture that blends tradition with modern artistry, and now he has made his debut in architecture. The designer has unveiled his first-ever villa project–Atman Living in Uttarakhand. This stunning retreat blends luxury with nature, and the home reflects his signature aesthetic that is highlighted in handcrafted details, natural textures, and timeless Indian craftsmanship.

Inside Aatman Living, Designer Rahul Mishra’s Uttarakhand Home

Nestled in Kalakhet village of Nainital, Uttarakhand, Aatman Living is a five-bedroom luxury villa situated 6,000 feet above sea level. The stunning home has a sixth bedroom as well, but it is permanently reserved for Rahul Mishra and his family. People can book two rooms or the entire villa for their stay.

This is designer Rahul Mishra’s first architectural project and also marks the debut of Rahul Mishra Spaces. Aatman Living is actually the designer’s family home, where they often visit to escape the humdrum of city life! It blends nature with luxury, and the entire retreat has been crafted by local artisans.

Aatman Living in Uttarakhand has floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook stunning views of the hills, while pinewood flooring adds a cosy touch to the interiors. According to Condé Nast Traveller, on the ground floor, you will find mustard-hued Jaisalmer sandstone tiles and soft Banarasi carpets that add richness and warmth to the whole villa, and add Mishra’s signature style to the home as well.

An Escape Into The Wild

There are multiple seating nooks across the ground and mezzanine levels offer different views of the landscape, with a double-sided stone fireplace connecting the living and dining spaces. The bedrooms are spacious yet cosy, featuring block-printed fabrics and elegant four-poster beds. At the front, a glass-walled solarium with a wooden altar floods the space with morning light.

Sustainability has been a major focus of Aatman Living, and the charm of Uttarakhand oozes from all corners of the retreat. There are no cooling or heating systems here as the architecture supports temperature change of the house. Furthermore, solar panels power the villa, rainwater is carefully harvested and reused, and all organic waste is repurposed to enrich the gardens, orchards, and organic farms that supply most of the home’s fresh produce.

Now, there isn’t a website or direct portal to book a stay here. Stays can be requested via email at aatman@rahulmishra.in, and prices are available upon request.
