Planning a quick getaway around the upcoming festive long weekends? Agoda’s latest accommodation search data reveals the destinations Indian travellers are most interested in visiting during the Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami long weekends. Based on searches made between May 1 and July 31, 2026, the list features everything from monsoon-friendly hill stations and beach destinations to cultural hubs and international hotspots.

Goa Tops Rakshabandhan Long Weekend Getaway Searches

For the Rakshabandhan long weekend, Goa emerged as the most-searched domestic destination on Agoda, followed by Mumbai and Puri. Goa’s monsoon charm makes it an especially appealing choice, with lush green landscapes, waterfalls and its scenic hinterland coming alive during the season.

Mumbai follows close behind, offering travellers a quick city break packed with food, culture and entertainment. On the third place, Puri brings together two very different experiences—a visit to the iconic Jagannath Temple and a relaxing beach escape.

Other destinations making it to Agoda’s domestic top choices include Ooty, Munnar, Lonavala and Varanasi, showing that travellers are looking at everything from monsoon getaways to spiritual escapes.

On the international front, Singapore, Bali and Bangkok emerged as the top three most-searched international destinations for the Rakshabandhan break.

While Singapore offers a mix of neighbourhoods, attractions, gardens and its famous hawker culture, Bali continues to attract travellers with its beaches, temples and cultural experiences. Bangkok, on the other hand, is a favourite for its temples, street food and lively city vibe.

Top favourite international destinations also feature Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, London and Paris, giving travellers plenty of options across Asia and beyond.

Where Are People Travelling To During Janmashtami Long Weekend?

Goa seems to be the clear favourite this festive season, taking the number one spot for the Janmashtami long weekend as well. Udaipur came in close second, attracting travellers with its beautiful lakes and grand Mewar-era palaces, while Mumbai rounded off the top three.

The domestic list also includes Pondicherry, Chennai, Jaipur and Leh, reflecting the growing interest in coastal, heritage and mountain destinations. Leh, in particular, offers a completely different experience with its Himalayan landscapes and Buddhist monasteries.

For those planning an international getaway around Janmashtami, Singapore, Dubai and Bali emerged as the top three choices.

While Singapore and Bali continue to be popular picks, Dubai offers a different kind of holiday, combining its buzzing cityscape with desert adventures and experiences. Other destinations in the international top 15 include Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Maldives, Hong Kong and Hanoi.
