Hempushpa’s Inspiring Story: Raipur’s Top Woman Delivery Partner

For years, Hempushpa’s life in Raipur revolved around her home and her two young daughters. But when her husband fell ill, the responsibility of supporting the family suddenly fell on her shoulders. She wanted to start earning but also needed work that would allow her to care for her husband and remain there for her daughters.

Her husband encouraged her to join Swiggy as a delivery partner. Hempushpa learned to ride a scooty and, with support from colleagues on the platform, took the leap. She joined Swiggy two years ago. Over the past two years, the additional income has helped improve her family’s financial situation. She enrolled her daughters in English-medium schools and invested in her home by repairing and adding a second floor. She also put the ground floor up for rent. “I am confident that slowly we will be financially well-off and more secure,” she says.

From Housewife To Top Woman Delivery Partner

Her efforts were recently recognised when she completed the highest number of Swiggy orders by a woman delivery partner in Raipur between April and May 2026. The journey was not without challenges. When she first started delivering, some neighbours and extended family members discouraged her. Hempushpa, however, chose to focus on her family and work. “When my husband was unwell, no one helped. So why should I pay heed to their thoughts? I will do anything for my daughters, and hence, my only focus is my work,” she says.

Today, Hempushpa has found a way to balance work with her responsibilities as a mother and wife. She says she enjoys her work and often works longer hours, particularly during festivals. Looking ahead, she plans to continue working with Swiggy. “I am earning well now,” she says. “I am content that I can take care of my family, home and husband also. What more can I want at this time?”
