Our favourite time of the year has finally arrived. Summer season! No, we’re not talking about the intense summer heat, but the time when students and college-goers get almost two months off from studies. During this period, travel becomes extremely busy, and train journeys see a huge demand. To make things easier, Indian Railways has introduced a summer special train between Bengaluru and Kanpur.

Summer Special Trains Between Bengaluru & Kanpur

The idea of launching summer special trains between Bengaluru and Kanpur is to make travel easy. The  South Central Railways announced this special move with an official post on X. The railways confirmed that train numbers 04131 and 04132 will run weekly from April to July 2026.

Here’s the schedule of these trains. Train number 04131 will leave Kanpur Central every Sunday at 4:30 PM. It will reach SMVT Bengaluru on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. This service will run from April 5 to July 12. As for the return journey, train number 04132 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru every Wednesday at 7:10 AM. It will arrive back at Kanpur Central at 3:45 AM on Friday. This return service will operate from April 8 to July 15.

During the journey from Kanpur to Bengaluru, the train will pass via cities including Prayagraj, Nagpur, and Vijayawada. The route also covers many stations like Shankargarh, Dabhaura, Manikpur, Satna, Katni, Madanmahal, Itarsi, Ballarshah, Sirpurkaghaznagar, Bellampalli, Manchiryal, Warangal, Khammam, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Renigunta, Melapakkam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, and Bangarapet.

This increase in demand during the summer often leads to overcrowded trains. To handle this situation, Indians Railways introduced special services like this one. The goal is just one: to give passengers more options and reduce pressure on regular trains.
