Advisory Issued Amid Rising Tensions In The Country
According to a report by The Indian Express, the advisory follows a ‘large-scale strike’ reportedly carried out by the United States in Venezuela on Saturday. Reports claimed that Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro was captured by US authorities during a nighttime military operation. The operation triggered a national emergency in Venezuela, with CPI (M) General Secretary M.A. Baby calling it a violation of international law.
The operation was announced by US President Donald Trump on social media. Reports further stated that the action followed months of tension after the US accused Maduro of drug trafficking. Due to the current situation, conditions in Venezuela remain risky. Indian nationals have been strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel, keeping citizen safety as the top priority.
