When the winter season arrives in India, people instantly get excited. Waking up to a snowy blanket wrapped over your home, garden, or town has its own special feeling. And winter in Kashmir always hits differently. It looks dreamy and magical. This year, fresh snow came much earlier than many expected in Kashmir. And just like that, the entire Valley slipped back into its winter vibe.
Fresh Snow Covers Kashmir
On Tuesday evening, Gulmarg and many other upper areas in Kashmir got fresh snow. The temperature suddenly dropped, and the whole place turned white in just a few hours. Locals and tourists both felt surprised but also excited. The views from these spots now look like a perfect winter postcard.
Due to this early snowfall, the authorities also became alert, reported WION. To ensure no harm befalls tourists or locals, authorities have temporarily closed the famous Mughal Road, which connects Shopian with Rajouri and Poonch. Snow has already started collecting near Peer Ki Gali, so the traffic department has advised people to avoid this route for now. They will reopen it once the road becomes safe to travel again.

Snowfall In Many Mountains And High-Altitude Regions
Snowfall began in several mountain and high-altitude regions, including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Baltal, Zojila Pass, Tulail, Gurez, Razdan Top, Sinthan Top and Peer Ki Gali. According to WION, Razdan Top in Bandipora has experienced over two inches of snow. In Sonamarg, Baltal, Tulail and even Zojila Pass, the snowfall remained light. These places saw only around 1 to 2 cm of snow, but still enough to confirm that winter had arrived.
Gulmarg again became the main highlight. This world-famous ski spot already looks ready for the winter sports season. Places like Affarwat and the main bowl in Gulmarg are fully covered with a fresh layer of snow. As per The Hindu, for November 6 and 7, the weather department expects a mainly clear sky with temperatures likely to stay between 0°C and 13°C. From November 8 to 10, temperatures are expected to remain between 1°C (minimum) and 12°C (maximum), giving signs of cold but stable weather
So tourism planners and adventure lovers feel hopeful and excited for the winter season.
