Guided Leopard Safari In Nashik For Wildlife Lovers
If everything goes according to plan, Nashik might soon become a hotspot for leopard safaris in India. The forest department of Maharashtra is planning these projects in Trimbakeshwar and Yeola in Nashik district. The aim of this initiative is simple: to attract more wildlife lovers to the area and reduce human-leopard conflicts.
According to The Times of India, these proposed safari zones will be developed in large fenced forest areas and will offer a semi-natural habitat for leopards. Moreover, the project promises a controlled wildlife experience where visitors will be taken on guided tours in designated safari vehicles operated by the forest department.

Plan Aims To Reduce Burden On Rescue Centres
According to The Times of India, the leopard safari areas at Yeola and Trimbakeshwar could spread across nearly 25 acres or more, but the final size will be decided after detailed site surveys. A DPR will soon be submitted to the state government. Reportedly, leopards that are currently in captivity or rescued may be rehabilitated in these safari zones.
The plan to introduce a leopard safari is also expected to reduce the burden on rescue centres. Moreover, these safaris will offer a more natural setting for the big cats, unlike zoos. The enclosures will have double-layer fencing in sensitive zones to ensure that animals remain within the defined area.
Visitors will travel in forest department vehicles accompanied by trained staff and guides who will provide information on leopard behaviour and enforce safety rules.
