India is a diverse country with so many cities. But many tourists visiting from abroad often stick to the usual popular places like Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. Now, a foreigner and travel vlogger has showered praise on Chandigarh, calling it ‘the most well-designed city in India’, and we couldn’t agree more.

A foreign travel vlogger, Rory Porter, keeps uploading snippets from his travel journeys. He is currently in India and has posted an Instagram video praising Chandigarh. The video starts with Rory telling his followers not to believe everything they see on the internet about India. People usually show the negative side, but not places like Chandigarh.
Rory mentions that the city is very clean, very modern, and the water in Chandigarh is “impeccably clean.” He also adds that there are so many activities here, calling it one of the “greatest cities in India.” Rory points out that many people probably do not know about this city. He says, “People normally just do the triangle. They do Agra, Delhi, and Jaipur, but they miss out on things like this.” In the video, he can be seen boating in what looks like the famous Sukhna Lake. The caption under the video read, “The most well-designed city in India, Chandigarh, Punjab.”

Culture, Food, & Green spaces
The video does not end with just the city’s look. Rory also talks about Chandigarh’s culture. He mentions that the city has an amazing blend of Punjabi and Haryanvi culture, which makes it diverse. The travel vlogger adds that the food here is amazing and that it is one of the greenest and cleanest cities in India.
Not many know that Chandigarh was designed by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier in the 1950s. Chandigarh is considered India’s most well-planned city. Its sector-based layout, strong infrastructure, and green spaces have made it efficient too. Rory also says that Chandigarh has no noise, no beeping, and less traffic compared to other major cities.
The video has gone viral and has received many comments from his followers. One wrote, “Chandigarh is really the best.” Another commented, “Indeed, an amazing city.” Just like Rory said, tourists often overlook cities like these for more popular places like Agra, Delhi, and Jaipur. But honestly, this city should be on the itinerary of anyone planning to visit India.
