Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a crucial part of how we search for information online. From editing videos to searching for information, AI is behind all the answers we look for online. And that’s true for how we plan our travel as well! To understand how AI is used for travel searches, Kaspersky decided to take a closer look at how people plan their trips using AI and what parts of a trip they trust AI with. Read for more details.
AI’s Role In Planning A Trip
Recently, Kaspersky conducted a study that revealed 89% of Indian respondents have used AI tools at some point or another. The majority of people using the AI tools globally are younger generations, highlighting their ability to learn new technologies quickly. However, in India, the case is different. Both older and younger generations are using technology equally.
The study shows 74% of people rely on it for main use, 65% for work and 61% for studying. AI is being used for multiple purposes—48% for entertainment, 40% for trying out new technology, and 41% for travel planning. Though compared to others, only 41% use it for travel planning, everyone has given a positive response. 98% respondents said that their AI experience for planning travel was satisfactory. Going more in depth, 59% said it was “perfect” and 39% said it was “good.” Many people are now looking forward to making the best use of AI for future trips.
How People Are Using AI To Plan Their Travels?
Among the people using AI for travel planning, 77% search for activities, events, excursions, tourist routes, and souvenir shops at the destination they are heading to. 74% for accommodation, 71% to make restaurant lists, and 69% to search for tickets. The survey also revealed that 54% booked hotels, 59% booked tickets, and 51% booked restaurants with AI’s help. What was surprising was 59% even asked AI to help with visa and migration questions.
Though AI offers answers to all questions, we can’t be sure if they’re 100% reliable. On this, Kaspersky advised users to double-check AI’s information before booking or purchasing online. They also mentioned using an eSIM to stay connected with family and friends, checking Wi-Fi networks, not leaving electronic devices unattended in crowded places, setting strong passwords, and installing a trusted security solution.
