What Happened During The Flight?

According to the authorities, the flight landed back at Mumbai airport at around 2:35 AM. Hindustan Times reported that one official said passengers noticed unusual signs during take-off. There were reports of a sound and visible sparks at that time. Some passengers also reported being soaked during the take-off phase. Engine number 2 reportedly stalled during the flight, and because of this, the crew didn’t take any chances and decided to turn the aircraft back to Mumbai.

The flight was carrying 47 passengers at the time of the incident. As soon as it returned, airport officials activated a local standby alert. To everyone’s relief, the aircraft landed safely at Mumbai airport without any further trouble.

Air India later confirmed the situation and added that the crew followed all standard safety procedures and handled everything in a controlled manner. It also confirmed that the aircraft was sent for a detailed technical check, as per routine safety norms.

After the landing, Air India arranged an alternate aircraft for the passengers. This replacement flight was scheduled and eventually took off at around 4:45 AM to continue the journey to Bengaluru.
