Indian Railways has been making headlines recently, especially after videos of the viral “Suhagrat coach” sparked debate online. The incident left many people wondering what is actually allowed inside privately booked train coaches. Amid this discussion, another video has gone viral, showing devotees performing a puja inside a moving train. Read on to know more. 

Video Shows Puja Inside A Moving Train

X user Sudhanshu Yadav (@SocialistSpirit) took to his social media handle to share a video showing devotees performing a puja inside a train. In the clip, a priest can be seen sitting on the floor and conducting the rituals while chanting mantras. Most of the devotees were dressed in white and were seen taking part in the ceremony.

As the video went viral, many people questioned how such an activity was allowed inside a train. The X user asked, “Is it right, from the perspective of co-passengers’ safety or the train’s security, to keep liquids, large metal vessels, and ritual materials like this inside a moving train?”

Railways Issues Clarification After Viral Video 

As the video went viral, many people started raising questions about the incident. This prompted Northern Railway to issue a clarification. The railway zone revealed that the puja was not performed inside a regular train coach. Instead, it was conducted inside a privately booked saloon car. A saloon car is a special railway coach designed for private use.

These luxury coaches come with premium facilities such as air-conditioned bedrooms, a living and dining area, attached washrooms and a kitchenette. For this puja, the coach was booked through IRCTC under a commercial arrangement. The travellers had paid an advance amount of ₹3,08,580. The coach was attached to Train No. 12926 Paschim Express for a one-way journey from New Delhi (NDLS) to Mumbai (BDTS) on July 10.
