Anand Mahindra often posts about new infrastructural developments around the country, and recently, he shared a video of India’s highest and longest glass skywalk bridge in Vizag, expressing his amazement at the stunning structure. Nestled over the Kailasagiri Hills, this skywalk is already being touted as one of the tallest of its kind in the world, Mahindra noted.
“Unsurprisingly, China still holds the global records for skywalk height and length, with the Zhangjiajie glass bridge placed 300 m above ground and stretching 430m long. But Vizag’s version isn’t far behind with a vertical drop of 262m,” the tweet read.
However, despite being in awe of the structure, he has no plans to visit it. Why? Well, because he has a “complicated relationship” with heights. “For now, I’ll stay an armchair #SundayWanderer and enjoy the views through videos instead,” he added.

All You Need To Know About India’s Longest Glass Skywalk Bridge
According to The Economic Times, the skywalk in Vizag is set to open next week. Adding a new attraction to Visakhapatnam’s tourism map, this bridge is 55 metres in length and offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal, the cityscape, and the Eastern Ghats.
This skywalk at Kailasagiri Hill surpasses Kerala’s Vagamon glass bridge, which is 38 metres long. Reports suggest that this skywalk in Vizag is perched 262 metres above ground level. It has a transparent glass floor that makes it feel like you’re floating above the landscape.
Keeping safety in mind, skywalk is made with three layers of 40-mm thick tempered laminated glass imported from Germany. It is supported by 40 tonnes of steel and can carry a load of up to 500 kg per square metre. While it can hold up to 100 people at a time, authorities have decided to allow only 40 people to walk around it at a time. It can also withstand extreme weather conditions and is engineered to resist wind speeds of up to 250 kmph.
