Recently, a wild possum caught all the attention on the internet after being caught hiding among stuffed toys at a Tasmanian airport gift shop on Wednesday, 18 March. In a viral video, the possum appears completely adorable as he sits on a store shelf. Read on to know more about the viral video.
Possum Spotted In Hobart Airport Toy Shop
Hobart Airport shared the video on its official Instagram account, showing the possum sitting on a shelf and trying his best to blend in with the stuffed animals. Sharing the video, they wrote, “Can you spot the imposter? This cheeky lost possum found a clever hiding place among the Aussie plushies in our retail store. Luckily, it was safely relocated out of the terminal area, and the space was cleaned. ” In the video, the possum was sitting on the shelf and trying his best not to get caught, but failed miserably.
As per a report by ABC News, Liam Bloomfield, multi-site manager with Lagardère AWPL at Hobart’s airport, said that staff members found the possum around 11:45 am local time.

He also revealed that things became chaotic when the animal left the store and walked outside, causing panic in the departure lounge. He informed the portal that there was a rush at the airport, but we ensured that the possum returned home safely without disturbing any passengers.

As soon as the video went viral, people flooded the comment section with mixed reactions. One user wrote, “Although I think this is super cute, I do wonder if this is real. Tassie brushtails are big and black. This guy looks like a mainland possum. Can any wildlife expert confirm?”
