What Is The Theme Of Ahmedabad’s Driverless Metro Trains?
Ahmedabad will soon see indigenous driverless metro trains. The city is all set to receive 10 new sets of these trains. As per Gujarat Samachar report, what’s interesting is that these new metro trains have been designed around two famous Gujarati festivals, Uttarayan and Navratri. Not just the exterior, you’ll get to enjoy these festival themes on the interiors too during your journey.
The first train has already reached the city and will be taken to the Gyaspur Depot. It will undergo maintenance and several rounds of testing at the depot before officially launching for passengers. The nine other train sets will also arrive soon. These trains will have stainless-steel bodies and run at speeds of 80 and 90 kmph.

What’s Special About These New Metro Trains?
These 10 new metro trains in Ahmedabad will have Automation Grade 4 (GoA4) technology and will operate on a 750V DC system. Ahmedabad currently has 32 metro trains from South Korea. The city will add 10 new trains made-in-India to its Metro fleet.
Each train set, which has three coaches, will cost around ₹35 crore, making the total cost of 10 train sets around ₹350 crore. These trains will be fully air-conditioned and will have CCTV cameras and advanced fire detection systems for safety.
