How To Apply For Chinese Visa?

In November 2025, India resumed issuing visas to Chinese nationals. This step was taken after a five-year break. As per News18, not only this, but China has made visa processes easier for Indian travellers. Indian tourists can apply for the L visa, which is meant for travel purposes. China offers 16 types of visas, including business (M), work (Z), student (X1 and X2), family visits (S and Q categories), journalist (J), transit (G), and more. However, most tourists only need the L visa.

To apply for a Chinese visa, Indian travellers must submit a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and two blank pages. They also need to fill out a visa form, two passport photos, a cover letter, and a detailed travel plan. Along with this, round-trip tickets, hotel bookings, bank statements with at least ₹1 lakh balance, income tax returns, salary slips, and a leave letter are required. If applicable, a sponsor or invitation letter must also be included.

Visa fees are not the same, it depend on the type. A single-entry visa is priced at ₹2,900, while a double-entry visa will cost ₹4,400. A six-month multiple-entry visa costs ₹5,900, and a one-year multiple-entry visa costs ₹8,800. Group visas are priced at ₹1,800 per person.

Applicants need to fill out the form online, print it, and submit it at the nearest visa centre with documents and fees. After submission, they receive a slip with the collection date to pick up their visa.
