Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Hijack Alert

According to reports by Hindustan Times, Flight AI 2030, operated by a Boeing 787-9 aircraft, landed safely in Jaipur and was moved to a designated isolation bay for security checks. According to DGCA sources, the aircraft transmitted transponder code 7500, an internationally recognised code used to indicate hijacking or unlawful interference. Air Traffic Control (ATC) received the alert from the pilot-in-command, prompting the diversion to Jaipur.

DGCA sources later said the aircraft had been cleared by the authorities and passengers were expected to board again soon. However, police sources said the emergency landing followed a reported bomb threat. Shiv Dayal, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Malviya Nagar, told PTI that airport authorities had informed the police about the incident involving the Frankfurt-Delhi flight.
