Taking to his X account, Anand Mahindra shared his thoughts on Sikkim. Mahindra described Sikkim as an underrated travel gem that deserves much more attention. In his post, he shared stunning images of the state and pointed out that people are beginning to rediscover its beauty. He also expressed surprise that global travellers still haven’t added Sikkim to their top travel lists, despite its breathtaking landscapes.
Shockingly, Anand Mahindra also revealed that he has never visited Sikkim himself. After seeing these visuals, he now feels he has missed out on experiencing such a beautiful place, and he would definitely love to visit this place.
Why You Should Visit Sikkim
Sikkim sits in the eastern Himalayas. It may be one of India’s smallest states, but it is packed with diversity, both in nature and culture. It shares borders with Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal and West Bengal, which makes it a unique meeting point of different influences. Its capital, Gangtok, beautifully blends tradition with modern life and treats travellers to stunning mountain views no matter where they stand.
What makes Sikkim even more special is how fast its scenery changes. At one turn, you see lush green valleys, and just a little ahead, you suddenly spot snow-covered peaks. The state is also home to Mount Kanchenjunga — India’s highest peak and the world’s third-highest mountain. Much of Sikkim is still covered in dense forests, where you can discover rich flora like rhododendrons, magnolias and orchids, and rare wildlife like red pandas, black bears and Himalayan pheasants.
