On Saturday, September 6, Andhra Pradesh tourism minister Kandula Durgesh attended the inauguration of the 4th International Short Film Festival in Palakollu. During the event, he made an important announcement revealing that the centre has approved to setting up of a regional centre of the National School of Drama (NSD) in Andhra Pradesh. National School Of Drama In Andhra Pradesh

The 4th International Short Film Festival event was organised by the National Telugu Saraswat Mandal Parishat in Palakollu, West Godavari district. The New Indian Express, in its report, revealed that the Andhra Pradesh government is making constant efforts to encourage cultural activities in the state. One part of this plan is to open the National School of Drama (NDA) in the state soon.
The state government is also planning to make Andhra Pradesh a major hub for movies. For this, the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, plans to build modern, high-quality facilities in key cities of the state. Moreover, in November this year, the Nandi Drama Festival will be organised in Rajamahendravaram. CM Naidu has also been allowed to hold the Nandi Awards presentation function in Rajamahendravaram.
Revenue From The Telugu Film Industry
In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu film industry plays a crucial role. 60% of the revenue of the state comes from the film industry. On this, the minister has requested the important people of the film industry to shift their base to Andhra Pradesh. He assured that the state will offer complete support to the team.
As per The New Indian Express report, Minister for Water Resources Nimmala Ramanaidu mentioned that events like the International Short Film Festival focus on variety, traditions, and the rich culture of the Telugu people. The ministers believe that if the government and the film industry work together, there is a high chance of a boost in culture and entertainment in the state. With steps towards NDA school, short film festivals, and more Andhra Pradesh will soon become the centre of films.
