When Will Tulip Garden In Srinagar Open?

If you love tulips, here’s some good news. According to NDTV, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar is all set to open for visitors on Monday, March 16, 2026. Officials from the Floriculture Department confirmed that the flowers have already started blooming, which is why the garden will open for the season this Monday.

Spread across around 30 hectares, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is known as Asia’s largest tulip garden. Besides tulips, the garden is also home to other spring flowers such as daffodils, hyacinths, and ranunculus, which add more colours

Where Is This Garden Located?

Asia’s largest Tulip Garden in Srinagar is located at the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range and overlooking Dal Lake. It also hosts the well-known Kashmir Tulip Festival, which celebrates the beauty of blooming tulips in the Himalayan valley. As per NDTV, visitors can see around 70 to 75 different varieties of tulips in multiple colours. 

Apart from the flowers, the festival also gives visitors a taste of Kashmiri culture and traditions. Guests can explore stalls offering traditional Kashmiri cuisine, handicrafts, art displays, and folk performances.

What Are The Timings Of The Garden?

The garden will remain open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The entry ticket costs around ₹75 for adults and about ₹30 for children. Meanwhile, foreign tourists may need to pay around ₹200 for entry.

While the festival begins in mid-March, the best time to see the tulips in full bloom is usually during the first two weeks of April. That is when the garden looks the most colourful and lively.

After exploring the beautiful Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, there are several amazing spots nearby that you can visit. Just next to the garden is the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden, a peaceful place. A short drive away, you can also stop by Pari Mahal, a historic garden known for its stunning views of Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains.

If you want to explore more, head towards the famous Mughal gardens like Nishat Bagh and Chashme Shahi. Also, don’t miss a relaxing shikara ride on Dal Lake.
