India is evolving fast in its railway sector. Be it introducing new semi-high-speed trains or making them technologically advanced, the progress is great. But did you know that getting your food delivered on a train from your favourite restaurant is also quite easy? And this isn’t common in many other countries. An Australian woman recently ordered food delivery on a train and called it the “coolest thing ever,” and we couldn’t agree more. Here’s more on this.

Many long-distance trains have their own on-board meal services, sometimes included in the ticket. But there’s something special about Indian trains. Passengers can conveniently order food delivery from restaurants through apps integrated with railway systems. This system is popular in India and not very common abroad. Usually, you can easily place an order and get your food delivered at the next stop or even at their seats by a delivery agent. It’s amazing, right?
Recently, an Australian woman praised this service and called it the “coolest thing ever.” Bec McColl, a travel content creator on Instagram, shared a video showing her experience. In the clip, she can be seen holding a pizza slice while sitting on a moving train. Bec explained that she ordered pizza and French fries on the train, and the delivery agent met her at a station to hand over the food. She further wrote, “India is ahead of the times when it comes to this.”

Netizens Praise The Service
Many netizens flooded Bec McColl’s comments section, praising the service. One asked, “How is this not common in other countries?” Another commented, “True, when I tried it the first time, I was surprised as well.” A user even asked Bec if this wasn’t normal in other countries, to which she replied, “Definitely not normal in Australia, which is where I’m from!” Another made a funny remark, saying, “Wait for a few years, you’ll get that feature in planes also.”
One Instagram user also wrote, “THAT’S CRAZY- I’m travelling China right now and saw the same thing happen next to me was crazy.” Clearly, many netizens were surprised by this service. But it is awesome, right? If by chance we don’t feel like eating the food served on trains, we can always order something from our favourite restaurant.
