Bengaluru Airport City To Get State-Of-Art Exhibition Hub, Luxury Hotels & More By 2031

Bengaluru Airport City Limited (BACL) and Prestige Group have now collaborated on a major upgrade near the Kempegowda International Airport. By 2031, Bengaluru Airport City is all set to get a state-of-the-art convention and exhibition hub, retail stores, food outlets, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Bengaluru Airport City To Get A Massive Upgrade

Bengaluru Airport City is an integrated urban district near Kempegowda International Airport (BLR). According to Moneycontrol, Prestige Group and BACL have now unveiled exciting plans for a large integrated destination within this area.

The project, spread across 14.2 acres, will involve a construction investment of around ₹1,800 crore by Prestige Group. Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, and officials are targeting the inauguration in the first quarter of 2031. According to Deccan Herald, the project will be designed by global architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). The development will draw inspiration from Bengaluru’s dual identity as a garden city and a hub for technology and innovation.

Luxury Hotels, Food Outlets & More Planned

Now, let’s talk about what will be there. According to Moneycontrol, the development will include a state-of-the-art convention and exhibition centre. There will be luxury hotels under the St. Regis and Marriott Marquis brands, along with premium office spaces. Officials are also planning a performing arts centre, entertainment hubs, along with food and beverage outlets and retail stores. Reportedly, the airport ecosystem has the potential to accommodate 15-18 million square feet of office space. It can also house 4,500-5,200 hotel rooms over the long term. 

The project in Bengaluru Airport City is aimed at serving global travellers, event organisers, businesses, and visitors. Plus, it will help strengthen Bengaluru’s position as a global business and hospitality destination. Businesses will be able to host large international events such as global conferences, exhibitions, and corporate gatherings here.
