Monkeys Breach Bengaluru Airport Security

In an interesting incident, two monkeys were spotted inside Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2 in Bengaluru. And what was shocking was they were not spotted just for a day or two but for a whole week. Both travellers and airport staff were amused to see monkeys casually lounging and strolling around Terminal 2. Authorities confirmed that this was the first time monkeys had entered the Bengaluru airport premises.

According to Hindustan Times, the monkeys may have come from Devanahalli, known for a large monkey population. The monkeys possibly entered the airport by accident while looking for food. The airport staff rescued them and relocated them safely with the help of the forest department.

No Delay In Flights

During this entire time, the monkeys became very popular on social media. Travellers clicked pictures and even recorded videos of the monkeys casually exploring the landscaped gardens near the terminal. At one point, they were seen near the domestic departure area. They also went close to the outdoor smoking zone. Seeing this, airport security then immediately stepped in to make sure they did not get close to the flight operations area.

The wildlife management team at the airport usually works to prevent bird strikes. But this time, they had to deal with monkeys; however, they responded quickly. Airport operations continued normally throughout the incident. In talks with Hindustan Times, a spokesperson confirmed that no flights were delayed or affected, and passenger movement also remained smooth.
