Around midnight on November 16, a man with a knife reportedly tried to attack two taxi drivers at Bengaluru Airport. However, his attack was foiled when the CISF overpowered him before he could harm anyone. He was arrested soon after. Here’s what exactly happened at the airport.
CISF Foils Knife Attack On Taxi Drivers At Bengaluru Airport
A timely intervention by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) averted a major crime at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. Around midnight on November 16, a man armed with a long metal knife charged towards two taxi drivers to attack them. Before anything could happen, ASI Executive Sunil Kumar and his team overpowered him and recovered the knife.
The CISF shared the news on their official X handle yesterday. They also posted CCTV footage showing the incident. In the video, the attacker can be seen running towards a man before CISF personnel stop him. According to the post, the incident took place at Terminal 1’s arrival area. The accused and all involved were immediately handed over to the KIA Police for further legal action.

Accused Identified, Investigation Underway
As per a report by The Free Press Journal, the accused was identified as Sohail Ahmed. He was arrested under the Arms Act and later sent to judicial custody. A preliminary inquiry suggests the act was retaliation linked to an earlier dispute between the men. However, authorities will carry out further investigations to confirm the exact cause.
The CISF ended their post on X by stating that they remain committed to safeguarding passengers, airport personnel, and critical aviation infrastructure. This incident not only prevented a major crime but also highlighted the courage of the CISF on duty. Their swift action ensured no one was harmed at the airport.
