Ordering food online comes with its own risks and safety concerns. Most people now depend heavily on e-commerce apps to get their daily groceries delivered. But it might not always be a good experience. A shocking case of expired paneer delivery in Gurugram has now prompted the Food Safety Department to raid a Blinkit store behind ROF Mall in Sector 43. Here’s what happened.
Expired Paneer Delivery Prompts Blinkit Store Raid in Gurugram
Imagine ordering fresh paneer online to cook something special. When it arrives, you find it expired. You ask for a replacement, hoping the next packet will be fresh. But again, you receive a rotten packet. You would be disappointed, right? As per a report by The Times of India, that’s exactly what happened to a resident of Sushant Lok-1. He ordered paneer from Blinkit but found it had a bad odour. He asked for a replacement, but the store sent him another rotten and expired packet.
When the man visited the Blinkit store to raise the issue, the staff admitted their mistake. However, the store manager allegedly behaved rudely with him. The customer kept the expired paneer packet and recorded a video as evidence.
Following the complaint, food safety officers inspected the Blinkit outlet behind the ROF Mall in Sector 43. They collected several samples, including paneer, Kesar Peda, Milk Cake, and toned milk. These samples were sent to laboratories for testing. Officials confirmed that strict action will be taken based on lab results under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

Increased Checks Ahead of The Festive Season
Reportedly, the raid at the Blinkit store came amid a broader inspection drive across Gurugram ahead of Diwali. Festival demand is expected to increase for groceries and sweets. Two sweet shops: Balaji Aggarwal Sweet and Snake’s Corner in DLF Phase 3 were also raided. Five samples, including Motichur Ladoo, Khoya Barfi, Dhodha Barfi, Rabri, and Kesar Peda, were collected for testing.
The Food Safety Department has increased inspections in areas like DLF Nathupur and DLF Phase 3 to ensure all food outlets follow hygiene rules. Officials have also urged customers to carefully check expiry dates, packaging, and labels before consuming food delivered through online platforms. Cases like these are significantly increasing these days. Whether it’s dairy products or fruits and vegetables, strict monitoring is now necessary,
