Recently, he took to his official X account to share that in Japan, fruit and vegetable boxes include a photo of the farmer who grew them.

Harsh Goenka said that this simple idea adds a personal touch and lets shoppers see the real people behind their food, which creates trust and connection. Practice Ensures Transparency & Shows Respect To Farmers

You would be surprised to know that in Japan, placing a photograph and the name of the farmer on fruit and vegetable boxes is a common practice. This practice is not just followed to ensure transparency but also to show respect for the farmer’s hard work. Once again, we are learning something new about Japan.

Many netizens agreed with Harsh Goenka that this tradition should be adopted by India too. One user wrote, “Nice idea. Can be adopted by Indian farmers,” while another simply called it “Excellent.” A third user, however, thought that this was not practical as India has so many farmers, and adding a lot of printed photos could have a negative impact on the environment.
