Bus Near Air India Aircraft Catches Fire At IGI Airport

We have all seen those buses that ferry passengers to and from aircraft to cover long distances within the airport premises. But today, one of those buses caught fire at Delhi’s IGI Airport. According to a report by NDTV, the bus was parked just a few metres away from an Air India aircraft at Terminal 3. A X user @GOD3636 also posted the horrifying visuals of the blaze on their social media account.

The bus was operated by SATS Airport Services Private Limited, a third-party provider handling ground services for several airlines. Thankfully, it was empty and not carrying passengers or luggage when the fire broke out; otherwise, it could have been a major tragedy. As reported by The Times of India, the fire was reported around 1 pm to the IGI Airport police station. Soon after, fire tenders, local police, and personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) rushed to the spot to extinguish the flames.

Delhi Airport also took to their X account and called it a “stray incident”. They stated that their expert ARFF team acted immediately and doused the fire within minutes.
