Falcon Festival is an annual cultural celebration held in Umrangso, Assam. These migratory birds travel thousands of kilometres from Siberia and Mongolia, make a pitstop in this part of India before continuing toward Africa.
According to Travel And Tour World, the festival started in 2015 and aims to promote wildlife conservation, especially efforts to protect the Amur Falcons, while also celebrating the unique culture and natural beauty of the region, and Umrangso is the perfect place for it. Visitors can immerse themselves in the region’s rich heritage through traditional music and dance performances, locally crafted handicrafts, and authentic Dima Hasao cuisine that showcases the community’s flavours and traditions.

Dates, Venue & All You Need To Know About This Vibrant Celebration
Over the last decade, the Falcon Festival has become a symbol of harmony between humans and nature. It brings Assam’s rich biodiversity, the community’s conservation success story, and the vibrant cultural identity of Dima Hasao into the spotlight, which people from across the country come to see.
This year, the festival will take place from December 12 to 14, 2025. As per Travel And Tour World, while the full lineup of artists is still not out, singers like Vishal Mishra and Shilpa Rao have confirmed their presence. To reach the festival, you can take a flight to Guwahati, Assam. You will have to take a 255-kilometre journey from there to reach Umrangso.
