For Mumbai, local trains are truly considered the “lifeline” of the city. Every day, lakhs of commuters travel by local trains for college, office, or even to explore different parts of Mumbai. Now, Central Railway has announced a special traffic and power block between Kurla railway station and Bhandup railway station. The block is announced from the night of May 15 to May 18. Major Train Block At Central Railway In Mumbai
The Central Railway in Mumbai is set to face a major three-day night block from May 15 to 18. The block will help railway officials install girders for a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Vidyavihar railway station. According to railway officials, the maintenance work is necessary for infrastructure development and passenger safety.
The first block will take place from 1:15 AM to 4:15 AM on the night of May 15 and 16. As per Mid Day, the second block will be from 12:10 AM to 4:40 AM on the night of May 16 and 17. The final block will happen from 1:15 AM to 3:05 AM on the night of May 17 and 18.
Railway authorities said the UP and Down slow lines will be affected on the May 15- 16. During the block on May 16 and 17, the UP and Down slow lines, fast lines, and the 5th and 6th railway lines will also be affected.

Changes In Train Routes
Several Down slow local trains heading towards Karjat from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus between 11:30 PM and 12:12 AM will run on the Down fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations. Mid Day reported that these trains will not stop at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations.
UP slow services heading towards CSMT from Kasara after 10 PM and Karjat locals between 2:30 AM and 3:43 AM will run on the Up fast line between Mulund and Matunga. These trains will skip Nahur, Kanjurmarg and Vidyavihar stations.
Central Railway also announced cancellations of a few local train services. The Thane-Kurla local departing at 11:40 PM and the Thane-CSMT local leaving at 4:04 AM will remain cancelled. Two CSMT-Thane local trains scheduled at 11:38 pm and 12:24 am will also not operate.
