Deepika Padukone Highlights Poor Air Quality In Mumbai

Taking to her social media, actress Deepika Padukone shared a post on her Instagram story expressing concern about Mumbai’s rising pollution. In the story, she wrote, “The citizens of this city and its children are choking! How is this okay?” She also tagged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and asked the authorities to look into the situation and take necessary action.

Along with her message, she shared a screenshot showing Mumbai’s current Air Quality Index. According to the post, the AQI level stood at 153, which falls under the “unhealthy” category. The image highlights the growing pollution in the city and raises concerns about air quality. It also shows how worsening pollution levels are making it increasingly difficult for residents to breathe comfortably.

Severe Heatwave In Mumbai

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Mumbai experienced one of its hottest days, with temperatures rising to 40°C, the highest in the last five years. The IMD’s Colaba observatory recorded a maximum of 35.4°C, 4.3°C above normal for this time of year. Weather officials warned that the heat could intensify in some areas. So, the orange alert has been issued in Mumbai.
