New Link Between Thane And Navi Mumbai
Recently, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has give approval to ₹723 crore link project. According to NDTV, this new route will be a connecting link between Thane and Navi Mumbai and will connect Kopri with Airoli and Digha. And the best part is that this new route is expected to cut travel time by 30 minutes.
Why is this new road a game-changer? This route plays a key role in the Mumbai Metropolitan, connecting residential areas to industrial zones and business hubs. But despite its importance, connectivity here has always been limited, and commuters have felt that struggle for years.

Current Two Routes Connecting These Places
Right now, to travel between Navi Mumbai and Thane, commuters depend on two routes. As per NDTV, one option is the Kalwa Creek Bridge, and the other is the Mulund East–Airoli Road corridor. However, when ask Mumbaikars, travelling on these routes is often tiring. Both roads are often crowded, especially during peak hours, leading to delays. To solve this, authorities have approved a new road.
This project is part of a larger effort to improve east-west and inter-city movement across the region. The growing population and daily traffic clearly demand better roads. MMRDA has already included the project in its latest budget. Officials believe this will help speed up the implementation process. Sounds like a big relief, right?
