How Is The Weather In Delhi?

Delhi has been experiencing a very hot March, and people have already started wondering how hot the weather could get in the coming months. But on March 15, 2026, Delhi-NCR residents woke up to rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, which brought much-needed relief. According to a report by India Today, the India Meteorological Department has now issued an orange alert for the region. This means thunderstorms and lightning can be expected in several parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.

According to meteorologists, the current weather is due to a western disturbance affecting the northwestern part of the country. The sudden rain in Delhi has significantly lowered the temperatures. Over the last 24 hours, Delhi recorded a drop of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures and 3-4°C in maximum temperatures. The rain and cloud cover in the city are likely to keep the weather cool for the next few days.

Pleasant Weather And More Rain This Week

According to Livemint, the coming days in the National Capital Region are expected to remain pleasant. IMD has forecast cloudy skies for most of the week and light rain with thunderstorms again on March 18, 2026. Reportedly, Delhi saw its warmest day of the year on March 11, 2026, when the maximum temperature rose to 36.8°C. This was more than four degrees above normal. This rain and cloud cover have definitely brought some relief.

According to a report by The Times of India, rainfall and snowfall in the western Himalayas are expected to increase between March 15 and March 20. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may see scattered rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds during this period.
