The final stretch of the DND-Jaitpur-Faridabad-Palwal-Sohna expressway corridor has been completed, offering the possibility of faster road travel between Delhi and southern Haryana. During trial runs, a journey from Sarai Kale Khan to Sohna and Palwal that can take nearly three hours during peak traffic was completed in around 40–45 minutes. Scroll down to know more.
Delhi To Palwal In 45 Minutes As The New Corridor Is Now Complete
South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri announced the completion of the final stretch following inspections and technical evaluations, including load testing by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The corridor is expected to improve connectivity between Delhi, Faridabad, Sohna and Palwal while providing links to major expressways across the region. According to sources cited by The Times of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the corridor later this year. However, an official inauguration date has not been confirmed.
The DND-Faridabad-Sohna Access Controlled Highway, designated NH-148A, spans approximately 59 km. An additional 9 km stretch connects the DND Flyway in Delhi to Jaitpur. The route begins at Sarai Kale Khan and passes through Jaitpur and Meethapur towards Faridabad, with onward connectivity to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway network. This is expected to provide commuters heading towards southern Haryana with an alternative to existing routes, particularly congested sections of Ring Road and Mathura Road.
The corridor is also expected to ease traffic pressure at Ashram Chowk and Kalindi Kunj by offering another route for vehicles travelling between Delhi and Haryana. Commuters heading to Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Sohna and Palwal, along with businesses transporting goods across the National Capital Region (NCR), could benefit from improved road connectivity.

What Commuters Should Know About The Expressway
The corridor has different operating statuses across its Delhi and Haryana sections. The 9 km stretch between the DND Flyway and Jaitpur has opened on a trial basis. During this period, access is toll-free, and the speed limit is 40 kmph. Meanwhile, the approximately 50 km Haryana section connecting towards Sohna and the KMP Expressway is operational, with toll collection and standard highway regulations in place.
The new route could help reduce travel time and fuel consumption, although the actual savings will depend on traffic conditions, access points and operating arrangements once the entire corridor is fully operational. The 40–45-minute journey recorded during trial runs should not be treated as a guaranteed travel time. Commuters are advised to check the latest traffic updates and access restrictions before setting out.
