Whether you live in Delhi or are planning to visit the city soon, you’d be glad to know that the city roads will soon be graced with double-decker buses. They will connect some major landmarks in the city, offering a smoother sightseeing experience for locals and tourists alike. Here’s more about this.

Double-Decker Buses In Delhi This February

According to The Economic Times, connecting major landmarks like the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, the National War Memorial and Bharat Mandapam, double-decker buses are set to make a comeback in Delhi this February. Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said that the double-decker bus service in the city is likely to be operational around February 20.

These buses are part of the Delhi Tourism department to improve the tourism infrastructure of the city. Two of these buses will begin operation around February 20, with more following soon. As per reports, the double-decker buses in Delhi will be electric and manufactured by Ashok Leyland. They will be able to accommodate 63 passengers and will operate in Lutyens’ Delhi. The vehicles will be decked with images of major Delhi landmarks.

Route, Timings & Fare

As per the Economic Times report, these double-decker buses will cover Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, Bharat Mandapam, National War Memorial, New Parliament complex, and Dilli Haat. Reports suggest that these buses will operate in the evening, around 6 PM, after the museum closes.

For adults, the ride will cost ₹500, while children between six and 12 will be charged ₹300. The buses will also have a guide who will explain the historical and cultural significance of each stop to everyone on board.
