After years of waiting, the women’s team lifted their maiden title in 2024, followed closely by the men ending an 18-year drought with their first-ever win. And now, the girls have done it again. On Thursday, RCB lifted their second WPL title, sending the 12th Man Army into celebrations across India over this hard-earned win.
RCB Lifts WPL Trophy Again!
For fans, RCB is not just a team, it’s an emotion, one that goes beyond the city and is rooted in the determination and love for the game the franchise has always embodied. So when Smriti Mandhana-led RCB bagged their second WPL title on Thursday, celebrations erupted among fans across India.
With ‘Ee Sala Cup Namdu’ chants taking over the stadium in Vadodara, the girls had the brightest smiles on their faces. And why not, according to India Today, the franchise has achieved a historic first by holding both the IPL and WPL trophies simultaneously.
Beyond the fireworks and chants inside the stadium, fans across the country marked the victory with street celebrations, dances, and fireworks of their own. Captain Smriti Mandhana also took a moment to thank the supporters during the post-match ceremony, saying, “I have to thank all the RCB fans. Again turning up in huge numbers, this one’s for you guys. I’d said this in 2024, and I’ll say it again that, this time, it’s ee sala cup namdu 2!”

Congratulations Pour In For The Champions
Just like the rest of the country, even the men’s team was over the moon with RCB’s winning the WPL 2026. Virat Kohli penned a special note for the team on Instagram that said, “Champions again. Keeping the RCB flag flying high is something that each one of you can be proud of. To Smriti and the whole squad and the management team, a big congratulations on this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans.”
Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya, AB de Villiers, Rajat Patidar, and Devdutt Padikkal shared sweet messages on social media for the women’s team. Anushka Sharma also congratulated the team on Instagram with a story, “RCB do it again. History, repeated.”
