Taking to her social media handle, health and beauty expert Dr Dimple Jangda (@dimplejangdaofficial) spoke about how the teenage phase can feel overwhelming. From mood swings to changing skin, it is not always easy. She pointed out that frequent junk and oily food can weaken immunity and affect skin health. To help teenagers feel better and stay balanced, she recommended adding three simple food items to their daily diet.
According to her, everyday masalas in our kitchen can actually work like everyday medicine on our plate. She believes the right ingredients can support better immunity, sharper focus, and clearer skin. Three Food Items Every Teenager Should Eat
1. Turmeric
We’re all familiar with turmeric, a common spice in our kitchens. Beyond adding flavour, it helps reduce inflammation and can tackle both teenage and adult acne. Turmeric also boosts metabolism, purifies the blood, and supports liver health. You can easily include it in your diet—add it to meals, mix it with milk, or use it in other creative ways for overall wellness and glowing skin.
2. Cumin Seeds
Cumin seeds can support overall health in many ways. They may help improve lipid profiles, control blood sugar levels, and reduce sudden sugar spikes. They’re also great for digestion — and let’s be honest, indigestion can totally mess with your focus and mood. As a teenager, try starting your day with a glass of cumin water. It may help reduce bloating and keep your tummy happy.
3. Fennel
Fennel is a great addition to your diet, especially for young girls. Thanks to its anti-spasmodic properties, it can help ease period pain and cramps — something most girls are honestly tired of dealing with every month. Its natural cooling effect also helps reduce acidity, burning sensations, and reflux, which many teenagers experience. The best part? It’s super easy to have. Just take a spoonful of fennel seeds, mix them with a little cardamom, or simply chew them raw after meals.
So, all you teenagers out there, don’t forget to add these food items to your diet!
