He revealed why the small idol holds a very significant place in his life. And honestly, the video is too sweet to miss!
Shubhanshu Shukla Shows Floating Lord Ganesha
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla made history in 2025 as the first Indian to visit the International Space Station for the Axiom Mission 4. His achievement made him an overnight celebrity in India and made many Indians extremely proud too. Recently, to mark Ganesh Chaturthi, the astronaut shared an extremely heartwarming video on his Instagram (@gagan.shux).
The clip showed Shubhanshu inside the International Space Station, with a small Lord Ganesha idol floating in zero gravity near him. He revealed that the idol is very special to him and has been with him for 20 years. The astronaut also shared with his followers that this small Lord Ganesha has supported him through all the ups and downs in his life. That is why he took it along with him to space. This is so cute, right?

In the video, Shubhanshu Shukla also said, “Dekhiye Ganpati kaise shaanti se float kar rahe hai.” The caption under the video read, “Faith is what holds us together when nothing else can. Witness Lord Ganesha in Space floating peacefully. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all. Many of his followers truly loved the video and wrote comments like, “This feels magical,” and “Wow”.
Shubhanshu Shukla keeps sharing his experiences from his mission with his followers.
