67% Indian Travellers Find European Cruising Appealing; What Does This New Trend Mean?

Europe is not just about roaming around one European destination. Many Indian travellers these days are opting for European cruising, which lets them cover multiple European destinations in one vacation. But how does this work, and what is really enjoyable about it? Read on to find out!

European Cruising Lets You Explore Multiple Destinations

A European cruise is a type of vacation that lets passengers visit multiple historic cities and countries while having to unpack only once. According to new YouGov research commissioned by Royal Caribbean, 67% of Indian travellers now find multi-destination European cruising appealing.

For them, the appeal of exploring the continent by cruise centres on making a multi-destination holiday easier to navigate. It allows them to visit multiple places with ease, which was the leading benefit cited by 45% of respondents. This was followed by other reasons, including safety and comfort at 42%, included meals and entertainment at 40%, and avoiding airport processes such as check-in, security and other delays.

These findings basically mean one thing. Indian travellers want to experience Europe but without having to spend a lot of their holiday coordinating transfers, navigating airports or managing luggage. A cruise helps them explore Europe with ease and makes the journey more enjoyable.

Wishlist Of Indian Travellers

These findings also coincide with the Mediterranean debut of Legend of the Seas by Royal Caribbean. The cruise gives travellers a new way to combine some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations in one vacation. The experience clearly resonates with the research, as this is what Indian travellers are valuing these days. The cruise covers destinations like Palma de Mallorca, Provence in France, and Florence, Rome and Naples/Capri in Italy.

The survey also revealed other interesting details. Italy is one of the most sought-after European destinations and leads Indians’ wishlists at 51%. It is followed by France at 48%, the United Kingdom at 45% and Spain at 30%.

Indian travellers are also open to looking beyond conventional modes of travelling within Europe. Trains remain the preferred option at 25%, followed by cruises and short-haul flights at 24%, private cars at 18% and coaches at 9%.
