A first wildlife research centre in the Aravallis will soon be set up in Faridabad. This decision is being taken to strengthen wildlife conservation in the southern Aravallis. Wildlife Research Centre To Come Up In Faridabad

The Haryana Forest Department has now decided to set up a wildlife research centre in Dauj village of Faridabad. This centre will help strengthen wildlife conservation in the southern Aravallis. According to a report by The Times of India, this will be the first facility of its kind in the region. The centre is aimed at systematic research, habitat monitoring and species tracking across the Aravalli landscape.

The research centre may come up near forested tracts of Dauj that form part of the Aravalli hill system. It will serve as a hub for wildlife studies, camera trap monitoring, rescue coordination and long-term ecological research. Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) R K Jangra shared with The Times of India that the facility will help improve understanding of wildlife movement and population trends.

Centre To Monitor Wildlife Movement

Authorities working at this research centre will also be able to keep an eye on human-animal interactions in Faridabad and adjoining districts. According to The Times of India, the centre will house field staff, researchers and technical teams involved in wildlife surveys and monitoring. Moreover, they will use modern tools like camera traps, GPS-based tracking and GIS mapping. These tools will help them to study animal movement and forest health.

Data generated from the facility will be used to guide conservation planning, habitat restoration and mitigation measures, especially in areas where human-wildlife interaction is frequent. The Aravallis in southern Haryana have recorded frequent sightings of leopards, hyenas, jackals, nilgai and several avian species in recent years.
