Food experiments are nothing new anymore. From avocado in golgappas to Fanta in Maggi, we’ve seen people mix the strangest things and call it “fusion.” But every now and then, one experiment comes along that actually surprises everyone, and this time, it’s all about chai! Forget the saucepan, because people are now making their chai in a pressure cooker.
Make The Perfect Kadak Chai In A Pressure Cooker
The idea came from Yaman Agarwal, the popular food creator behind CookingShooking, who recently posted a video showing how he makes chai in a pressure cooker. It instantly grabbed everyone’s attention. His logic was simple but brilliant: when tea is pressure-cooked, the steam and heat work together to bring out the real, strong flavour of the tea leaves. Basically, it’s chai, but better!
So how exactly does he do it? While the traditional way requires all ingredients to be added step by step, this process is a little different. The video starts with Yaman pouring water into the cooker. He then adds freshly crushed ginger, sugar, tea leaves, and milk all at once. Finally, he closes the lid and lets it cook till two whistles. That’s it! He then waits for four to five minutes for the steam to settle, opens the lid, and there it is: a beautiful, perfectly brewed cup of kadak chai.

Netizens Are Loving This New Hack
The video hit social media, and chai lovers everywhere were stunned. Some couldn’t believe it, while others were already rushing to their kitchens to try it out. The comments were filled with excitement. Some exclaimed, “Will try and get back tomorrow,” and others declared, “Tried this in. The morning today… And trust me it tastes amazing!!!”
Of course, the internet also had its fair share of fun reactions. Some joked that their moms would never allow them to use a pressure cooker just to make two cups of chai. Others laughed about how cleaning the cooker afterwards might take longer than making the tea itself! One user even commented, “Uss din try karungi jab bartan koi aur dhoyega.”
Whether you’re someone who needs chai to start your day or you simply love trying out new kitchen tricks, this pressure cooker chai might just be your next favourite discovery.
So, next time you’re in the mood for a strong, flavourful cup of chai, maybe skip the saucepan and give your pressure cooker a chance.
