From Makki Di Roti To Buttermilk: Inside Diljit Dosanjh’s Authentic Punjabi Lunch

Diljit dosanjh

For our favourite singer Diljit Dosanjh, Punjab is always in his heart. Recently, he visited his hometown and shared a sneak peek of his day on social media. In the short vlog, he gave us a glimpse of a haveli, a full-on Punjabi meal and the background commentary added the perfect touch to it. Honestly, we loved his pure Punjabi munda vibe! Here’s how he spent the whole day.

Here’s What Diljit Dosanjh Ate In Punjab

In a short Instagram vlog, Diljit Dosanjh gave fans a peek into his vintage haveli and lunch and captioned the video with, “Apna ਪੰਜਾਬ Hovey.” He started by showing the gym, then moved to meet two elderly aunties and touch their feet. Walking through the haveli, he playfully welcomed everyone to visit. Inside, he counted the rooms—“1 bed, 2 bed, 3 bed…where’s my king-size bed?” and humorously pointed to a photo of a king.

Next, he spotted workers carrying bags and joked, “Yeh IndiGo walo ne lagta hai saara luggage yahi bhej diya,” which turned out to be his own. The highlight, of course, was his authentic Punjabi meal. Just like in a village, he spread a sheet outside and sat down to enjoy it. The spread included aloo-gobi sabzi, sarson da saag with makki di roti, and a refreshing glass of buttermilk. The best part about his lunch was a spoonful of butter he added. He ended the feast on a sweet note with sevaiya.

How Singer Ended His Day

After enjoying the authentic Punjabi meal and chatting with people, Diljit Dosanjh played a card game. He then showed a man using a mosquito fogging machine to get rid of insects and jokingly mimicked mosquitoes running away to the neighbour’s house.

To end the day perfectly, he relaxed by a bonfire outdoors. From his vintage haveli to the hearty meal and a cosy bonfire, Diljit’s one day in Punjab showed the simple joys of a true Punjabi lifestyle. It was fun, wholesome, and full of heart.
