Full List Of Trains Cancelled, Diverted & Rescheduled Due To New Jalpaiguri Rail Work

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will deploy a Multi-Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) at the New Jalpaiguri Yard under the Katihar Division between July 26 and July 28 as part of its ongoing initiatives to modernise signalling infrastructure and improve railway safety. Vande Bharat, Rajdhani Trains To Be Affected AT Jalpaiguri Yard

As per a report by News18, the modern communication system is expected to greatly enhance train detection, operational safety, reliability and the smooth movement of trains through one of the region’s largest railway yards. However, the contracting work will result in temporary cancellations, partial cancellations, diversions, rescheduling and regulation of several passenger train services.

Speaking to the news portal, Northeast Frontier Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that the upgraded system would boost train detection capabilities and improve overall operational efficiency across the section. Among the trains impacted, Train No. 55749/55750 (New Jalpaiguri–Haldibari–New Jalpaiguri Passenger) will remain cancelled on July 28.

Which Trains Will Be Impacted?

According to the news portal, trains like Howrah–New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express (22301), departing on July 28, will terminate at Kishanganj, with services between Kishanganj and New Jalpaiguri cancelled. Similarly, the New Jalpaiguri–Howrah Vande Bharat Express (22302) will run from Kishanganj, skipping the New Jalpaiguri–Kishanganj section.

Several long-distance trains have also been rescheduled. The Silchar–New Delhi Express (14037), departing on July 27, will leave Silchar two hours later at 9.10 pm instead of 7.10 pm. The Guwahati–SMVT Bengaluru Express (12510), which departs on July 28, will leave at 7.45 am instead of 6.15 am, while the New Alipurduar–Sealdah Express (13142) will depart one hour later at 12.50 pm.

Meanwhile, the New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (20504/12424), Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express (20505/12423) and Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express (20501), all starting their journeys on July 27, will be diverted via Aluabari Road–Thakurganj–Siliguri–Gulma, bypassing New Jalpaiguri, with a temporary halt at Siliguri Junction. The Barmer–Guwahati Express (15631), departing on July 26, may also be delayed by around 60 minutes.

NFR has urged travellers to check the latest schedules and stoppages on the IRCTC website or NFR’s official communication channels before travelling, as the temporary changes are being implemented to facilitate the signalling upgrade and improve the safety and efficiency of train operations.
