Ganga-Style Aarti In Goa Soon

According to Goa-based Prudent Media, Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s long-awaited spiritual project to develop the banks of the Mandovi River at Narve into a ‘Ghat Aarti’ space has finally received CRZ clearance. As per the report, the CRZ clearance was given during a Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority meeting last month.

The GCZMA has stipulated that all facilities for the project must be temporary and located away from the mangrove buffer zone, as it is an ecologically sensitive area. The project will be spearheaded by Darashaw & Company as the architect and consultant for the project, and will be completed within ten to twelve months. The tourism department hopes to create a Varanasi-style Ganga Aarti space in Goa with this project.

As part of this project, Goa Tourism Development Corporation will make an aarti deck worth ₹10.5 crore along the Mandovi River at Narve. Earlier, The Times of India reported that the space will also have a massive statue of Lord Shiva, a puja mandapam, seating space, a ticket counter, and also a cafeteria.
