Gujarat Tourists Attempt Dine-And-Dash Near Mount Abu
A group of tourists from Gujarat attempted to flee without paying a ₹10,900 bill at a restaurant near Mount Abu, Rajasthan. However, their plan backfired when they got stuck in traffic and were caught by police near the Gujarat border, NDTV reported. The incident took place at the Happy Day Hotel in Siyava, close to Mount Abu.
Five tourists, including a woman, checked in and ordered a lavish meal. After finishing, they pretended to go to the restroom one by one and quietly slipped out of the restaurant. They quickly got into their car and drove off without clearing the bill.
The hotel staff soon realised what had happened and began chasing the group. CCTV footage captured their car heading toward Ambaji, near the Rajasthan-Gujarat border. Unfortunately for them, their escape plan flopped when they got stuck in a traffic jam.

A similar case occurred recently in the United Kingdom, where two Indian-origin families left a restaurant without paying their bill. The incident happened at Sai Surbhi, an Indian restaurant in Greater Manchester run by Raman Kaur and Narinder Singh Athwa. The two families, including four adults and four children, had a full meal, praised the food and service, and then tried to pay using multiple cards. When the payments failed, they promised to transfer the money later, but never did.
