Gurgaon’s Kingdom Of Dreams Now Lies In Ruins, Netizens Say, “Shoot Om Shanti Om Sequel There”

Kingdom of Dreams (KOD) was a massive live entertainment, theatre and carnival hub located in Gurgaon. Opened in 2010, this world-class place promised magical experiences and let people explore India’s culture and art. But today, KOD is permanently closed and lies in a ruined condition like a haunted place.

Spread across 6 acres, Kingdom of Dreams featured two auditoriums, the 864-seat Nautanki Mahal and a 350-seat Showshaa Theatre. There was also an indoor cultural boulevard featuring dining, crafts and entertainment, and the place attracted many people when it opened. It was something new for so many people at that time. But today, KOD lies in ruins in Gurgaon.

An X user, @GurugramDeals, recently uploaded a series of images showing its condition and wrote, “The once iconic ‘Kingdom of Dreams’ in Gurgaon lies in ruins today. Wonder what’s the plan to revive this space.”

The pictures showed the spot ruined, burnt and in a condition that definitely seems like a scene from a haunted movie. According to News18, the site was sealed in 2022 and has also faced major fires in 2023 and 2025.

Pictures Leave People Nostalgic

The spooky pictures shared also showed broken parts of the complex. The condition of KOD and the pictures prompted many users on X to recall their memories of it. One user wrote, “Pretty freaky,” while another wrote, “Shoot Om Shanti Om sequel there,” highlighting its eerie state.

A third user even commented, “It was way ahead of time and now Gurgaon only has trendy cafes to offer.” Many people who had visited Kingdom of Dreams in the past mentioned that the place was not just fancy but was also quite expensive. Even a small serving of dosa there cost more than ₹100 when many other South Indian spots were selling dosas for less than ₹50.

According to a report by Livemint, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) sealed Kingdom of Dreams in July 2022 for non-payment of dues amounting to over ₹100 crore. Moreover, in 2025, experts from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, declared KOD’s infrastructure unsafe for entry.
