KFC is globally known for its crispy fried chicken, but a rather unexpected version of the acronym has caught the internet’s attention in Gujarat. A food court near Ahmedabad goes by the name “KFC”, but instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken, the initials stand for Krishna Food Court, where the menu is entirely vegetarian. Industrialist Harsh Goenka recently shared a picture of the food court on X, joking about the unusual coincidence. His post described it as a “KFC food court where only vegetarian food is available” and added that it could happen “only in Ahmedabad”. Want to know more? Read on!
Harsh Goenka Jokes About Finding KFC That Serves Vegetarian Food
The signboard in the picture makes the identity of the place clear. It reads “Krishna Food Court” in large letters and features an image of Lord Krishna. Several food and hospitality outlets appear to operate within the complex, including T-Time, Bombay Pav Bhaji and Krishna Inn. The post quickly attracted attention online, with users having plenty of fun with the unexpected KFC reference. Social media users continued the wordplay, with one person jokingly replacing KFC’s famous Zinger burger with a “Zignesh burger”. Another described the food court as an example of companies thinking globally while acting locally.
Some users were amused by the fact that the food court uses the same three-letter abbreviation as the international fast-food chain. One comment jokingly wondered why the actual KFC had not objected to the name.

Others took the vegetarian angle further. One user joked that “KFC without the chicken” meant Ahmedabad had rewritten the rulebook. Another quipped that it was “peak Ahmedabad entrepreneurship”, adding that Colonel Sanders might be confused while Lord Krishna would be pleased. Several users also identified the location as Krishna Food Court on the Shamlaji-Ahmedabad Highway near Himmatnagar in Gujarat.
What Does Krishna Food Court Offer?
According to reviews listed online, the food court offers a variety of vegetarian food options and has ample parking, making it a convenient stop for highway travellers. Visitors have also highlighted facilities such as EV charging stations and clean washrooms. While many reviews praise the location for its convenience and range of food options, some visitors have also mentioned that the prices can be on the higher side.
