If you are a tourist in Delhi or a resident, here is an important update for you. To improve the power network and ensure smooth supply in the coming days, Delhi has planned temporary power cuts in several areas. Here is a list of the affected locations and timings.
Delhi To Face Temporary Power Cut
On Saturday, June 6, multiple areas in Delhi will face power cuts. But no, the power cut in every area will not happen at the same time. Every area has different timings allocated. As per Times Now, the outages will start early in the morning and continue through the day in different localities. Palam will face a cut from 8 AM to 9:30 AM. Nizamuddin will see disruption from 8 AM to 10 AM. Mundka will experience two separate outages between 9 AM and 11 AM.
Saket will have a short power cut from 10 AM to 11 AM. Mohan Garden will also face two separate outages between 10 AM and 12 PM. Janakpuri will see a power cut from 10 AM to 12 PM and another from 11:06 AM to 1:06 PM. Jaffarpur is scheduled for a cut from 10 AM to 12 PM. Sarita Vihar will face a longer outage from 10:40 AM to 2:40 PM. Khanpur will have no power from 11 AM to 1 PM. Nangloi will also see two separate cuts between 11 AM and 2 PM.

Why Are These Power Cuts Planned?
These power cuts are part of regular infrastructure maintenance. With this, the officials aim to upgrade systems and reduce the chances of unexpected breakdowns. It will be helpful, especially during peak summer demand when electricity usage remains high.
A similar situation was recently seen in Chennai. The scheduled power cuts were carried out on June 2 for maintenance work. There, too, electricity was suspended for several hours in selected areas.
During the power cut, authorities have advised residents to stay prepared during these hours. It’s advisable to keep flashlights, fully charged power banks, and other basic essentials ready to avoid inconvenience. In some areas, power cut may slightly extend.
