High Speed Double-Decker Bus, With 40 Passengers, Catches Fire On Lucknow-Agra Expressway

In a terrifying incident, a tyre burst on a moving double-decker bus on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway on Sunday morning. This resulted in the bus catching fire. Fortunately, all passengers on board were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Scroll on to know more.

Bus Catches Fire on Lucknow-Agra Expressway

According to Dainik Bhaskar, on Sunday, at around 4:30 AM, a double-decker high-speed bus caught fire after its rear wheel suddenly burst. The incident happened on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, and the fire fumes were so intense that eyewitnesses claimed it could be seen from two kilometres away.

The bus was carrying 40 passengers and was travelling from Delhi to Gonda, via the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, when the fire incident happened. While waiting for the fire brigade, locals tried to stop the blaze but failed. The firefighters were able to douse the fire soon, and no injuries were reported.

All About The Incident

Dainik Bhaskar reported that the double-decker bus was moving at a speed of about 80-90 kmph when its tyre burst, causing smoke to fill the vehicle. The driver immediately stopped the bus and evacuated all passengers. Shortly after, the bus was completely engulfed in flames, with police and three fire brigade teams arriving at the scene soon after. The police are now investigating the cause of the fire.

Just two days ago, another tragic bus accident claimed more than 25 lives. A Bengaluru-bound bus from Hyderabad caught fire after colliding with a bike in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, claiming the lives of at least 25 passengers. The bus was immediately caught in a fire, and rescue teams were not able to save all the passengers on board.
